CANON: Bang Dream! Girls Band Party
CANON HISTORY:
Canon wiki link! And since that is what it is, a brief write up listed by stories currently live in the english version:CANON PERSONALITY:
Pre-game: Hina Hikawa was born the younger twin sister of Sayo Hikawa. While the girls were apparently close as children, a rift formed as they grew older and Sayo grew more and more uneasy with Hina always outshining her. Sayo became really fucking tsundere about her younger sister and tried to minimize the time they spent together in order to have less to feel inadequate about, while Hina desperately tried to be there for Sayo and to be close to her. Her desire to be close to Sayo is what led her to pick up the guitar, since her older sister played the guitar and joined a band, Roselia.
Roselia Band Story: Sayo actually was in a few bands before Roselia but ended up forming a band with Yukina when asked. There was a Lot Of Drama, and Hina shows up in some of Sayo's portions basically to explain Sayo's motivations and for Sayo to angst about. It's very moving, probably.
Pastel*Palettes Band Story: An idol band is formed! While Aya Maruyama, Chisato Shirasagi, and Eve Wakamiya are chosen for their various idol talents/names (Aya has been trying to be an idol for ages, Chisato is an actress, and Eve is a model), Hina auditioned for the band on a whim (because Sayo plays guitar and joined a band. that's literally it) and got in easily. Later they were joined by Maya Yamato, a studio musician who was originally just filling a slot.
The band was meant to just PRETEND to play their instruments - though Hina, who passed the auditions, actually could play hers - although they learned the dances and the like. While none of the girls were really thrilled about this news they went along with it. And all was fine! Until the audio cut out during their first-ever concert and it became super clear they were lip-synching/pretending to play.
Long story short a lot of fans lost faith in them, but instead of disbanding or the like they decided to Play For Real!!! and taught themselves how to play and practiced a ton and handed out flyers on the street in the rain, and their second concert went off without any major hitches. In the end they got a pretty solid fanbase who was impressed with them actually singing and playing their instruments themselves, and PasuPare is having a Good Time. Hina, from association with the other girls, starts to understand a little bit more about people and it helps her relationship with Sayo just a little bit.
Main story: Basically Kasumi and Poppin' Party want to throw a live and invite mcfuckin' everyone into it, they all argue because they all have differing styles - Hina is one of the ones who doesn't really argue with what they're doing but who goes :/ :/ :/ at people arguing and mostly just seems jazzed to be able to play! in a concert! with her sister! They all then eventually make up and the concert goes off without too many hitches. Amaze.
Searching for Stars: Hina and Kokoro are both the Sole members of their respective school's astronomy clubs, and they set up a star viewing party with some of the other girls. Shenanigans ensue.
Past Aspirations & Pastel Futures: Aya's FAVORITE IDOL BAND is breaking up, and the rest of the girls make sure she gets to meet her idol in person before the band splits...
Wish Upon a Tanzuku: Hina REALLY wants to spend Tanabata with Sayo, who is Not Down. Eventually however they end up spending the night together by accident, to Hina's delight. In the end Sayo writes down that she wants to become closer with Hina as her wish, and the girls bond over how they used to be close and play in the same park they ended up in. Basically Hina has the Best Time.
When The Flowers Bloom: Chisato is in a play instead of a movie, the girls visit, shenanigans ensue.
Pastel*Palettes! Deserted Island Idols: The band gets a reality TV show set on an island, where if they survive and complete a bunch of missions they get to release a new single! Maya pretty much single-handedly carries the squad through the event while Hina fucks around and terrorizes everyone on a rope bridge, as you do.
Umbrella for the Autumn Rain: Sayo angsts about how Hina's playing has more emotion than hers does, backtracking on their progress a bit. By the end, however, Sayo is actually honest with Hina about her feelings for once and Hina returns the favor.
Hina Hikawa is a good-natured and generally easygoing person. She rarely seems to take much that seriously - she only gets Truly upset a few times in the game to date - and instead sort of seems to be out to have a Good Time with whatever she's doing. Her lax manner probably has to do with her being a "genius". Hina rarely has to try anything more than once in order to master it and she's regularly at the top of her class in school despite not seeming to spend much if any time studying. It goes further than just a genius memory and ability to pick up skills, though. Hina is also apparently the sort of person who can eat anything and never really gain any weight, and she seems to have ridiculously high luck stats.SKILLS/ABILITIES: Hina is, canonically, that incredibly annoying person who is an Ace at whatever she tries. It's the reason her sister has such a huge complex about her and admittedly she frequently seems to be confused by anyone's attempts at explaining how they don't Immediately get something. As time goes on Hina is getting more understanding (ish) of the idea of hard work being necessary, but she's genuinely just hilariously talented at pretty much everything. It's how she got into a goddamned idol band on a whim. Like, what the hell, Hina.
In short, she's exactly the sort of person who can give others an inferiority complex. This is important to note because her most important canon relationship is with her older twin sister, Sayo, who has constantly felt overshadowed by Hina for their entire lives to the point of Sayo dropping every hobby she had whenever Hina picked it up and was Instantly Amazing at it. While this could have been a negative relationship (and is, on Sayo's side) in the sense that one twin was trying to outdo the other, Hina's motivations are pretty much entirely pure. She admires her older sister a lot and tends to pick up things she does in order to be closer to her and to try to bridge the gap that Sayo forced between them. Unfortunately, Hina never seems to quite understand perfectly that the gap only widens every time she picks up something Sayo loves in order to try to bond with her over it, since Hina is always ridiculously skilled at whatever it is.
Her sister is why Hina picked up a guitar at all, and she pretty much Immediately got accepted into an idol group because that's just how life goes for Hina. It's a red carpet affair and she's always the guest of honor. Despite the fact that Sayo was her initial motivation to play, though, and despite the part where she still loves Sayo's playing and they've agreed to be inspiration for one another (which Sayo sometimes can't stick to), joining Pastel*Palettes has slowly but surely been changing Hina's understanding of the world. While she was often blinded to how much work Sayo had to put into things to master them due to her idolization of her older sister, it was easy to se how Aya and the other girls had to put in a lot of effort to get results - particularly Aya, in fact. While Hina didn't quite understand at first, she soon came to find it "interesting" and "fun" how much they put in, and for once started to be dragged along at someone else's pace. Thanks to her time with the other girls in her band Hina has come to understand people a little more, slowly but surely.
While she's sometimes bad at understanding others, Hina's intentions are never shown to be at all malicious. Despite this her extremely blunt nature can tend to upset others or throw them off. Hina doesn't really think before she speaks and pretty much has no trouble insulting people to their faces if she thinks something's off, but it's usually always done with a smile and absolutely no ill will whatsoever. This personality can make her hard to handle, but there are those who appreciate her absolute honesty with herself and other people. Unlike Sayo, Hina never tries to fool herself about anything. She's occasionally oblivious, yes, but Hina is thoughtlessly brave about most things and always faces herself and other people head on.
One of the upsides of her honesty and easygoing nature and reckless bravery? Hina rarely cares about what other people think (Sayo seems to be the only person who can instill any sort of worry and shame in her, until PasuPare) and marches cheerfully to the beat of her own drummer. This ranges from being the only member of her school's astronomy club and not really minding to cheerfully ignoring the complaints of her bandmates in order to send a rope bridge rocking madly. Hina doesn't let any concerns about other people stop her doing what she likes to do, honestly. That said, she does care about people. She's just bad at it, if getting better. Hina is willing to run out into the rain to give her sister an umbrella, and she's more than willing to put herself out for Pastel*Palettes and her friends - she Tries, all the time, even when she doesn't have to or it's not in a way people can understand.
In short: bubbly easygoing genius with poor people skills and intense honesty and luck stats.

AU NAME: Hina Hibiki
AU AGE: 15
PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES: SUPER BLONDE
AU HISTORY:
☆ she's very blonde y'allAU PERSONALITY:
☆ Very Foreign, her mama is french and her papa is japanese! she grew up speaking a mix of the two languages, though while they lived in japan she mainly spoke japanese and then mainly french later on. however her english is v good!
☆ unfortunately hina peppers her speech with gratuitous french because her Super Cool older brother [personal profile] faireleclown (wataru hibiki) does so. hina idolizes him a lot and tends to pick up hobbies he likes and copycat certain qualities as u do (as such she does THEATER and BALLET)
☆ her parents split due to work/business issues and remained on amicable terms. while wataru went to america with dad the much younger hina went to france with mom, where she lived pretty much until just a short time ago!
☆ she got to switch off visits on breaks/holidays to her father or wataru coming to their mother. so she has spent a decent amount of time in america (partly why her english is v good)
☆ hina sent REALLY LONG ABSURD letters to her father and brother from france, and also text messages, she loves her family,,,
☆ she loved living in france, really! hina's always been very social and usually has an easy time fitting into new places largely because she fuckin ignores anyone who gives her trouble and just does her own thing, like a shining star
☆ she's Very outgoing and Very blunt and it's a hina thing not an anything else thing. wht is tact??? hina hibiki sure doesn't know!!
☆ she's annoyingly talented at things with what appears to be very little effort??? probably especially annoying in school where she manages to hover around the top of the class all the time
☆ conversely she sucks at like...helping people get stuff? hina just kind of fails to grasp that things don't just CLICK for everyone. a tragedy
☆ she usually (???) means well but because of her lack of tact can make enemies/people who dislike her, not that she always notices
☆ her caring about people is shown by wanting to be with them All The Time and wanting to do things like them sometimes and etc
☆ likes to try new things
☆ basically has zero fear whatsoever of anything, rip anyone who has to keep an eye on her in a crisis
☆ she moved very recently to live with wataru while mama travels for some big work thing, since papa was also busy! she is VERY EXCITED!! about it and also america in general
☆ doesn't actually have any interest in guitar or music! since canonically she only got into that stuff via sayo hina's just very focused on theater and dance because ~cool older bro~ does it
☆ disclaimer: her brother is not actually cool
☆ but she'll tell everyone he is because she's horribly, horribly misled
☆ i'm sick hopefully this all makes sense
☆ hina is extremely DRAMATIC and LOUD and will occasionally do things just for the fucking aesthetic because wataru is a terrible terrible influence
☆ the end
While one wouldn't think it possible, Hina is even More Happy than her counterpart. For one thing? Her relationship with her older sibling, Wataru, isn't fraught at all. While Sayo minded Hina copying her skills, Wataru only occasionally wishes she'd do her own thing and mostly is very supportive and cheerful about it. Of course, Wataru is also a genius, so Hina can't just outshine him which maybe helps. Her relationship with her parents is equally good despite their divorce, and so there isn't any really big source of strife in her life (though admittedly Hina might not notice if there were). While her relationship with Wataru is good, however, she isn't as close to him as she always wanted to be with Sayo. There's a fairly big age gap between them and they didn't live together regularly since they were very small (and now in Recolle) so while they're close and fairly loving they're not really joined at the hip or anything.
Hina also has no interest in music currently, and hasn't had any of the development with friends that would lead her to be more considerate of other people's abilities and feelings. Without Pastel*Palettes, Hina just sort of remains a Blunt Accidental Asshole at times, and she doesn't have the ability to grasp that some people actually have to work hard to succeed. Which...doesn't always go over well with others, obviously. What Hina does have an interest in, however, is acting! And she's good at it (of course, sigh) and while one would think it might make her consider others more, what it really does is cause her to be a Giant Ham. Which she wasn't really in her past life. If there's a chance to be needlessly dramatic, Hina feels the instinctive need to take it.
